A TRULY MAGNIFICENT Edwardian/Titanic style 1912-1913 era pure silk suit, absolutely lavished with antique laces and silk embroidered appliques....This exquisite creation is one of my finest designs and has even more extraordinary handsewing on it than some of the rare antique gowns I have restored.....ALL of the lace elements and appliques you see here have been entirely and painstakingly hand sewn! Superfine, substantial-weight pure silk taffeta and gorgeous pure silk satin stripe, both in a delicious light mint green, accented with very delicate touches of mauve pink....this is very costly, crisp suit-weight silk. The embellishment of this suit features the epitome of fine French handsewing techniques and ALL of the laces used on the entire ensemble are antique and date from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. The high-necked separate dickey (which is removable and may be used with other outfits; or the jacket worn without it if desired) is composed of all-antique elements, from the beautiful multi-ruffled organdy embroidered in a delicate edge design of mint green, to the dainty Edwardian silk handmade mauve rosette garland trimming the top and bottom of the collar, to the appliqued fine Victorian lace of the high standup collar and three-tiered, 18th-century inspired ruffled waterfall "cravat" front. The jacket, of both satin-striped and plain mint silk taffeta, is fully lined with ecru silk and the cuffs are finished exactly as the dickey, with matching antique laces, rosette trim and double ruffles of embroidered organdy and fine Victorian lace. Eight gorgeous antique-style French rose gold-finish buttons with mint green enamel centers fasten the front, which has a vest-like effect framed in more antique trim. The exquisite handmade lace collar dates from the Edwardian era and I have hand-sewn delicate Victorian silk embroidered appliques to it that have tones of mint greens and pale mauve pinks....Separate A-line, raised-waist Edwardian two-layer skirt features a fabulous antique lace panel in the front of the top skirt of mint silk taffeta, which is further hand-appliqued with more of the Victorian hand embroidered medallions, as well as more handsewn antique lace framing this beautiful panel and a two tiered edge of the striped silk with underlying antique lace.. The underskirt/lining is ecru silk with the lower half in mint striped silk to match the jacket. Hours & hours of fine work in this beauty....
Completely lined in silk, and all visible seams have been French-finished.

Sizing on this suit is from approx. a modern 6-8 to about a 12-14 (no larger than that), and can be adjusted according to the individual measurements (please read order info before purchase!) Bust approx. 42" max, skirt waist is 32" max and hip 44" maximum. Shown on 5' 7" size 8-10 model with 2" heels..PLEASE NOTE I do not generally put fasteners on anything so that the buyer can adjust the fit themselves...buyer is responsible for being aware of this!

This is not highly fitted and therefore would be very comfortable to wear (as with all outfits, I always do suggest good foundation garments/corset and petticoats be worn underneath, for the appropriate historical look).....Incredibly PERFECT for a Titanic event, or the Somewhere in Time Weekend as this is a true 1912-1913 style. The workmanship on this suit is beyond compare and rivals that of the finest antiques....it will truly draw awe & compliments wherever it is worn. The antique laces used are truly museum-quality!
