A most exquisitely made, all-silk Titanic Edwardian style gown, meticulously and very carefully handmade with all-HANDSEWN, all-antique lace and embroidered trims from my personal Edwardian and Victorian collection. This gown is made from an authentic 1912 era pattern, and has a high waist with a sash of antique French black silk velvet, elaborately ornamented with a floral applied design of silk satin and silk velvet flowers. The gown itself is in two layers: a full underdress of ecru silk bordered in an extraordinary antique Edwardian-era wide hem of hand embroidered cutwork, tiny black French knots and bottom layer of black velvet (please see the closeups to view just how awesome this vintage trim is!) The entire overdress is black and ivory fine soft sandwashed silk, trimmed in genuine antique Edwardian lace that is entirely handsewn over the bodice, sleeves and hem; wide elaborately patterned ecru underneath and narrower black antique lace applied over this. Further augmenting the gown is exquisite Edwardian era ruffling of ecru silk crepe embroidered with black dots, at the undersleeve hems and at the neckline of the detachable high necked silk dickey (can be worn without this, for a more summery or less formal look if desired). The dickey is made of matching handsewn appliqued antique laces and edged with black silk velvet ribbon. There is an inset of the embroidered cutwork and black silk velvet that matches the hemline of the underdress at the center front of the bodice, and this is further lavished with more antique handsewn lace all hand sewn, back to front. This fantastic gown is perfect for a Titanic Ship of Dreams event, Somewhere in Time weekend or any Edwardian-1912 theme tea or other event....gorgeously detailed and will fit from a modern size 6 to a 14 (will be adjusted and final fastenings added according to buyers' specifications within this size range) .....a very comfortable yet very authentic and true-to-era style which is not extremely close fitting and therefore very flattering as well..
