Another magnificent, very historically accurate and exquisitely made 2 piece
Victorian/Edwardian tea/visiting gown, circa the style of 1899-1905, is of the very finest, genuine 100% silk, crisp TAFFETA (not dupioni, nor a "blend", nor what passes for "taffeta" as you may have seen elsewhere)...with truly museum-quality antique laces used for the lavish trimming. Superior, top of the line and particularly shimmering pure silk, with a beautiful iridescence and lovely crisp yet drapable hand, in light warm apricot-peach with woven shadowy stripes in glimmering light golden yellow...This is all pure silk and made just as the antique gowns were crafted....Only the main seams and stress points of this gown have been machine sewn---ALL others including all of the trims and all of the lace elements in entirety, have been completely HAND SEWN in this outfit, making it truly heirloom-quality.
Hours and hours of fine handwork have gone into the creation of this elegant beauty and it is a true melding of the finest antique and contemporary elements.

The bodice is lined in finest 100% silk light yellow taffeta and all edges on both pieces have been French-seamed or handfinished....just as in the antique gowns that are so treasured today...created with great faithfulness to the originals as is my absolute mission.

The gown is in two parts, bodice and skirt--making it very versatile and usable with other elements...and it is also very adaptable to many sizes as I have made it a point to create clothing which will be wearable and comfortable for the moden figure, yet capture the true essence of Edwardian and Victorian times. Shown on a size 8/10 model, can be adaptable up to approx. a size 14 or down to approx. a 6-8. (Please go by stated measurements rather than modern sizing, for the best fit) I have not added fasteners or hooks to the backs of either of the pieces so that they may be individually sized to the buyer's needs---please be sure you are aware of this and do read the ORDER INFO page.

The skirt is seven-gored, French-seamed and hand-hemmed; has a train and is finely hand appliqued at the bottom of each gore with exquisite genuine Victorian lace appliques over pleated, fluted ruffles of the peach and gold silk taffeta...there are seven of these in all. There is a handsewn applied gathered sash of shimmering golden silk taffeta covering the waistband, which closes with hooks and eyes. The very elaborate bodice has puffed straight elbow length sleeves ending in delicious three-layered full ruffles of silk trimmed in coordinating fine Victorian laces, and above this is even more handsewn appliqued fine antique lace. The lavish triple layer ruffling is repeated at the top of each sleeve, with two ruffles each of the lace trimmed silk taffeta, topped by more ruffles of very fine antique Victorian net lace. The neck of the blouse is gathered to a stiffened standup collar trimmed in lace, and overlaid on the entire top of the bodice is a most wonderful, extraordinary and fabulous Victorian antique lace collar/yoke piece, to which I have added even more handsewn detail in the form of the coordinating antique net laces and appliques echoed elsewhere on the gown. ALL LACE used on this marvelous gown is 100% antique and comes from my vast collection of fine rare pieces...these are treasures indeed. Please be sure to see the closeup views..

Waist size from 25-26" up to 33-34", and bust size up to 44-45"; can be adjusted according to the buyer's individual needs within this range. This is a very flattering, wonderful style for a wide range of figure types.
